This is not an April Fools' Day prank

We people love our fantasy leagues, due to our belief that we really know the sport better than the experts. Yet one way or another, the players we trust always, always manage to find a way to let us down. And it gets absolutely sickening when a couple of bad days eliminate any chance of us winning anything, making us want to quit wasting our time since we seem to have the knack to always pick the worst players.

Now, have you ever wished there was a prize for that? We have, and that’s why our latest creation is a completely different take on fantasy leagues than you’ve ever seen.

This IPL, Android users across the world have the chance to win a great deal of money by joining Quirky Cricket, where your job is to predict the players who are going to play badly. Yep, you read that right. You got to pick the flops.

All you have to do is pick 5 players a day who’re going to be the biggest disappointments. Basically, you get points every time your choices get out for duck or leak runs by the dozen. The winners on every match day go into a pool, sorted on the basis of their winning margins.

Participation is free, and the Daily Winners stand a chance of winning $50. Initially, we’ll be handing out $50 prizes to the top 3 of the Daily Winners’ Pool. But, as the downloads of the Quirky Cricket app increase, we pledge an additional $50 prize for every 10,000 downloads, opening up an opportunity for all Daily Winners to pick up the cash.

And, in the spirit of ensuring prizes are distributed to as many people as possible, one user can win only one prize. So watch out for the Quirky Cricket app, which will be hitting the Android Market very, very soon.
